Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott
Denver, CO
13,000 SF
Completed May 2000

The design concept for the law offices at 1899 Wynkoop was to create a powerful space that clearly reflects the image of Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar and Scott. The use of materials that collect and diffuse the daylight throughout the office reinforce visual adjacencies between attorney and assistant, and they capitalize on Colorado’s most vitalizing natural resource: light. Paramount to the design are the generous corridors which culminate at the Forum. They are designed specifically to capture and accommodate the quick pace and energy produced by information transfer and gathering. The Forum is a private war room with state-of-the-art audio/video conferencing capabilities fused with a comfortable environment. Details are simple and extremely well articulated. An inventive use of traditional materials such as wood, glass, and metal identifies Bartlit Beck as a non-traditional firm and reflects the progressive, in-control attitude of the firm’s practice.
