Jeppesen challenged the design team to create a centralized Conference Center within their global headquarters where the "Architecture is the Art". As a result, the design encompasses architectural languages and materials that give the Conference center a fresh approach and unique identity. The circulation spine is defined by 11-foot high canted walls that feature light fixtures emitting "beams of light" that are recessed into rotating directional channels. The effect of the light passing through these channels represents beacons and azimuths to symbolize Jeppesen’s navigational mapping business. The above ceiling was designed to glow with blue light reflective of natural daylight along the edge of the circulation spine and through punched openings to connect the users to light.
The result is a state-of-the-art Conferencing Center that supports communications and collaboration at a local and global level. |
